Overview
TOEFL is the test of English language competency that you need to pass to get into over 6000 universities worldwide. In Lebanon you take the Internet based format (iBT) of the TOEFL. The TOEFL iBT test measure skills in four sections: Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing. The Reading and Listening sections have objective questions related to the passages; the Speaking and Writing sections have subjective questions and require you to combine 2 or more skills when you respond to a question. The total time for the test is around 4 hours.
Scoring
In general, a score of 60 to 100 on the Internet-based TOEFL (iBT) is required to meet admission purposes for undergraduate and graduate programs in the United States, with selective schools requiring scores at the upper end of the range (95-100.) The test score has a validity of two years.
